Father of Child Who Set Off Explosive at Newaygo High School Sentenced

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - A four-year prison sentence has been handed down to the father of a teenager who set off a homemade explosive at Newaygo High School.

David Saylor was sentenced in a Grand Rapids federal courtroom yesterday.

Saylor said that he and his son designed and built explosives over a two-year span.

The boy lost both of his thumbs in the blast.
