Construction on US-131 at the S-curve will continue through October 15.
The project was expected to wrap up by September 15 but several problems have delayed the project.
The single lane closure began in August as the Michigan Department of Transportation worked to install new signs.
MDOT says the eastbound I-196 bridge over the Grand River is scheduled to open Saturday night.
