GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - 26-year-old Andre Owens from Grand Rapids has been identified as the driver who died in a crash in southeast Grand Rapids last Wednesday.
The single-car crash happened early in the morning at the intersection of Dickinson Street and Horton Avenue when Owens lost control of his car, hitting a utility pole which caused the car to catch fire.
A passerby helped the three people inside out of the car, but Owens died at the scene.
GRPD said speed was a factor in the crash, but added it was still under investigation.
