The project aims to bring more people to downtown.
The plan would create a zigzag path that would allow bikes and strollers to use the space.
A walkway would also be created all the way to the Grand River.
Mark Miller, managing director of planning and design for Downtown Grand Rapids Inc, says they want the area to be highly accessible.
