The Grand Rapids weather radar is out of commission, likely due to strong and severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon.
The radar went down shortly before 3 p.m. according to employees.
A lightning strike was recorded incredibly close to the radar just before it went down.
It is unclear if the radar took a direct hit.
