WMU soccer players to remain on team as suit is heard

A federal judge says Western Michigan University may not remove four players from the women's soccer team as their lawsuit is heard over COVID-19 vaccine requirements.

U.S. District Court Judge Paul Maloney issued a temporary restraining order for the players which will be effective for 14 days.

Western Michigan University was requiring student athletes to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit their status by Tuesday.

The women say they should be exempt due to religious reasons.
