Crews working to clean up plastic powder near Zeeland plant

Crews are working outside a plant in Zeeland to clean up plastic powder on Tuesday.

The spill happened at a plant on Centennial Street north of E. Washington Avenue around 9 a.m.

Ottawa County Emergency Management Director Lou Hunt says the fine plastic was released when a valve blew.

Crews have to vacuum the plastic up.

Officials say people in the area may notice a fine white powder on their vehicle.

Small amounts are not dangerous to the public.
