May Mobility is launching a free ride service in downtown Grand Rapids.
The self-driving vehicle program is launching on demand ride services as part of the Grand Rapids Autonomous Vehicle Initiative.
Previously, the vehicles offered rides on fixed routes.
An attendant sits in the vehicle for every ride and can regain control of the wheel if needed.
