Western Michigan University will require masks indoors on campus effective immediately.
WMU said in a release the policy is in place for visitors, students, faculty and staff.
The change comes as Kalamazoo County has reached the substantial community transmission level according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
WMU says once the county's transmission rate falls, masks will only be required indoors for those who have not submitted vaccination status.
