The U.S. Coast Guard station at Holland State Park is at risk of being closed by next summer.
The USCG made the announcement in June that two Great Lakes Region station may be closing.
Both the Holland station and the North Superior station in Minnesota are seasonal and have parents stations nearby that are manned year-round.
Officials say if the Holland station closes, response times would be impacted but people on the water would not be at higher risk.
