Demand high but supply low at flower shops

With Mother's Day right around the corner, flowers are in short supply which may cause you to spend more.

Rick Huisman, owner of Huisman Flowers in Holland says people often don't realize when they are flying from South America, California, Mexico or Canada, they are often sharing a plane with flowers.

Huisman says many flower shops were hit by the pandemic and were unable to open due to restrictions.

Flower growers made decisions based on life at that time which is leading to a flower shortage.

Growers deal with a perishable product and have a short window to sell that product in.
