Metro Health and Mercy Health are working together to start the Cardiovascular Network of West Michigan.
The partnership will give patients another option for open-heart surgery in the Grand Rapids area.
Metro Health and Michigan Medicine surgeons have already been performing heart surgeries at Mercy Health Muskegon for decades.
The program will be up and running in roughly a year.
