As Grand Rapids looks to expand options for entertainment, ideas like an amphitheater, professional soccer stadium and even an aquarium have been suggested.
The idea for an aquarium was not included in the Grand Action 2.0 presentation on Wednesday but co-chair of development organization David Frey says there is growing momentum behind the idea.
John Ball Zoo CEO Peter D'Arienzo says they have been trying to see if an aquarium is something the community is interested in.
D'Arienzo says the project could take anywhere from five to ten years to develop.
