Social zones are expanding out of Grand Rapids and into surrounding West Michigan communities as a way to help businesses hit by the pandemic.
Lisa Paavo, a server at the Rockford Corner Bar says they have been looking for ways to help get through the pandemic.
The Rockford Outdoor Refreshment Area started in December and is one block of Main Street that has been closed off to traffic.
The space has helped restaurants, bars and even stores with added foot traffic.
