A man has been charged for a car crash that killed a woman's unborn twin daughters last fall.
The crash happened on October 26, 2020 when 27-year-old Omarious Barns was driving and crossed the centerline hitting an SUV head-on.
Matthew Merritt and his wife Kristen were inside the SUV.
Kristen was nine months pregnant and was less than a week away from her delivery date.
Emergency responders worked to free Kristen from the vehicle and rushed her to the hospital where an emergency cesarean section was performed and her girls were delivered.
The twins were revived but died days later due to their injuries from the crash.
Barns is charged with two felony counts of operating under the influence causing stillbirth.
