Derek Horton will stand trial for the death of his girlfriend Amber Griffin.
In June, Griffin disappeared from the couple's home in Battle Creek and her body has not been found.
In court on Tuesday, a detective from the Battle Creek Police Department and a lab supervisor testified .
The lab supervisor described how they created a DNA profile for Griffin using her toothbrush and a DNA sample from her mother.
