Blast of Winter Expected to Hit Region Tonight, Remain For a While

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Brutal cold and heavy snow is on its way to the region.

WOOD-TV meteorologist Ellen Bacca says the snow will start showing up late Thursday. Some areas might see a rain-snow mix.

"Most areas will wake up to around two to four inches of snow by early Friday," she said. "The Friday morning commute will be a messy one."

It's also possible that we could see lows below zero.
