Michigan Department of Health and Human Services director Robert Gordon is resigning.
Gordon announced his resignation Friday afternoon but did not include why he made the decision.
He did not attend the Friday morning press conference with Governor Whitmer as they announced the loosening of COVID-19 restrictions.
Whitmer has appointed Elizabeth Hertel to take over as director.
