A Cass County Sheriff's deputy rescued a dog from an icy pond on Wednesday.
Deputies responded to a call saying a dog named Leo fell through the ice on a pond near White Temple Road and Dutch Settlement Road in Penn Township.
Deputy Taryn Shields went onto the ice to help the dog and fell through.
Shields was able to grab Leo and both made it to safety.
