Spectrum Health is reinforcing their commitment to diversity by giving employees holiday pay to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day outside of work.
The hospital says the move gives employees an opportunity to take the day off and practice King's message.
The decision was announced last October as part of the anti-racism pledge issued after George Floyd died in police custody.
The hospital says the paid day is just one way to spark change.
