Wyoming family alerted to carbon monoxide by alarm

A Wyoming family had a close call with carbon monoxide but was alerted by a detection system in their home.

The De La Cruz family moved into a new home on January 5 and decided to install an ADT home monitoring system.

Just hours after the system was installed, the family of 5 was asleep when the alarm went off.

The family called ADT and dispatchers warned them they needed to get out of the house immediately.

Firefighters say their furnace malfunctioned and was causing the carbon monoxide.
