Certification of the Electoral College is scheduled for Wednesday in Washington D.C.
Some Republicans have announced they plan to object to certifying the results in favor of Joe Biden.
Freshman Representative Peter Meijer says the objections are political theater.
Meijer says he will vote to affirm the electors.
Meijer told WOOD TV that even if every Republican signed on to vote against certification, Democrats control the House of Representatives and the measure would not pass.
Protests are planned for D.C. and Meijer says he hopes that violence does not occur.
