A Portage man has been charged in connection to the death of an infant in August.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Emmendorfer was charged on Monday with open murder, first-degree child abuse and first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Fourteen-month-old Meilani Hart was found unresponsive on August 12.
She died the next day.
Police say Emmendorfer is the child's mother's estranged boyfriend.
