A hidden homeless community is popping up along the Grand River.
Sharie Sumner built herself a home and says she has no interest in moving into the new shelter that opened Friday in the old Purple East building.
The group is calling themselves the River Family and is so far made up of half a dozen tents.
A similar homeless community in Heartside park has 48 hours to vacate after the new shelter opened.
