A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday for the honorary name designation of Monroe Center to Breonna Taylor Way.
The Grand Rapids City Commission approved the decision in October.
The designation does not change the name of the street but residents and visitors will see the designation under the normal green street sign.
There are nine other special designations across the city.
