Scammers noticed more people getting pets during the pandemic.
Dorr resident Carol Ford fell victim to a scammer.
She found a poodle on a website called Poodles Groomers and put a $500 deposit down for the dog.
The puppy was listed for $1,350.
Ford says the scammer asked for more money the day before she was supposed to get the puppy.
