The Grand Rapids Downtown Development Authority is approving $243,000 for winterizing social zones.
The social zones have helped restaurants expand space while following social distancing protocols.
Part of the funding will go toward purchasing the concrete barriers from Bush Concrete Products.
Other funds will go toward purchasing canopies, tents, heating equipment and lighting.
