Officials say Michigan confirmed 483 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths on Sunday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The latest state data released Sunday showed Michigan has recorded two more deaths linked to coronavirus and has confirmed 483 more cases, 

As of Sunday, the state has counted 6,119 deaths related to coronavirus and a total of 73,663 cases since the virus was first detected in Michigan in March.

As of Friday, the state say 55,162 people in Michigan have recovered from the virus, meaning they are still alive a month after developing symptoms.

In West Michigan, Kent County data showed 52 newly confirmed cases, bringing the total to 5,796 and data for Ottawa County confirmed an additional 28 cases, bringing the total to 1,366. It has had 48 deaths.

Health Department officials say Michigan has been seeing a slight uptick in cases in the last few weeks, with the percentage of daily positive tests now regularly above 3%
