LOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police say a person has died in a crash along westbound I-96 near Lowell.
Firefighters with Bowne Township have confirmed the fatality on I-96, west of Alden Nash Avenue in Lowell Township.
According to a recent Michigan State Police tweet, westbound I-96 west of Alden Nash Avenute is closed and traffic is being directed to the Lowell exit.
MSP encourages drivers to seek alternate routes. A lone of eastbound I-96 in the area will be closed soon in order to get backup traffic turned around. Motorists should expect significant delays, MSP said.
