COVID-19 cases in Michigan reach 54,881; 5,240 total deaths recorded

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Officials in Michigan have confirmed 202 more cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total to 54,881, as of Monday.

Michigan has recorded 12 additional COVID-19 deaths, bringing the total to 5,240 per Health Department officials.

Monday's numbers showed that nearly half of the deaths reported were in West Michigan.

Also in West Michigan, Kent County now has 3,385 confirmed cases(26 more than the day prior)and 68 deaths (one more than the day prior).

Other reports include two out-of-state visitors who visited the Traverse City area during the holiday weekend have tested positive for COVID-19.

News outlet, the Traverse City Ticker reported the two travelers were symptomatic during the weekend stay with family.
