LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — According data released Friday afternoon, the number of coronavirus cases in Michigan has surpassed 50,000, with 497 new cases confirmed on Thursday,
The overall death number rose to 4,825 statewide, with 38 additional deaths linked to the virus recorded Thursday.
Locally, Health Department officials in Kent County confirmed five more deaths than the day prior, bringing the total to 53. It added 78 cases for a total of 2,705.
