LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — It was a busy week in State politics as Michigan law makers on Thursday opted not to extend the state of emergency, which provided the framework for Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s order.
At the same time last week, Governor Whitmer said she can issue her stay-at-home order without the Legislature, citing a1945 law. Now it’s likely to end up in court.
On this weeks 'To The Point'with Rick Albin, guests include Republican Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, Democratic Sen. Curtis Hertel, Jr. of East Lansing, State Rep. Lynn Afendoulis, R-Grand Rapids Township, and U.S. Rep. Justin Amash, I-Cascade Township, aiming to be the nominee for the Libertarian Party.
