Justin is joined by Doug DeVos to recap the Michigan Policy Forum where the main topic was opening Michigan for business once again.

Also, what was supposed to be a one-month initiative by Garage Bar & Grill to provide free meals to area families experiencing unemployment due to COVID-19 has been extended for another two weeks. In the first month, Garage Bar Cares donated 3,000 meals, and with the two-week extension, the program will have given away 4,500 meals. Restaurant owners can be available to discuss why they decided to keep this going. Kevin Farhat joins in with the details.

Although the latest Michigan numbers look promising,Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said she plans to extend restrictions despite 'cautious optimism' in Michigan's COVID-19 battle. "I want to be clear we will likely need another short term extension of the 'Stay Home, Stay Safe' order," 

Saying yesterday, "When we do start to reengage, it will have to be very thoughtful and precise."

Grand Rapids Police say one person is dead and another is hospitalized and it maybe linked to a double shooting. Sgt. Dan Adams said police were first dispatched to an area hospital around 6:45 p.m. on a report of an apparent gunshot wound victim. Further information led them to a house on Carrie Creek Blvd. NE, near Diamond Avenue. As officers checked on residents at an apartment building, they found a second victim. That victim died on scene.

More testing is being done in Michigan and right here in Kent County, in fact. 

The Kentwood Rite Aid store on Kalamazoo Avenue is among the chain’s locations offering self testing for COVID-19.

Wednesday was the first day Rite Aid offered the testing at the store located at the Kalamazoo Avenue and 60th Street intersection. Officials with the company said more than 30 people showed up for the first day of testing at the only location offering testing in West Michigan.

Five of Muskegon County's COVID-19 related deaths have stemmed from assisted living facilities.Public Health - Muskegon County (PHMC) released a statement Wednesday confirming that four residents of Seminole Shores Assisted Living and one resident of DaySpring Assisted Living had died from the virus. 

A judge in Harris County,Texas, on Wednesday ordered residents to start wearing face masks in public for 30 days beginning next week — or possibly face a fine.

A new study by a medical journal revealed that most of the people inNew York Citywho were hospitalized due tocoronavirushad one or more underlying health issues.

Health records from 5,700 patients hospitalized within the Northwell Health system -- which housed the most patients in the country throughout the pandemic -- showed that 94 percent of patients had more than one disease other than COVID-19, according to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
