In the first month, Garage Bar Cares donated 3,000 meals, and with the two-week extension, the program will have given away 4,500 meals. Grand Rapids Police say one person is dead and another is hospitalized and it maybe linked to a double shooting. Sgt. Dan Adams said police were first dispatched to an area hospital around 6:45 p.m. on a report of an apparent gunshot wound victim. Further information led them to a house on Carrie Creek Blvd. NE, near Diamond Avenue. As officers checked on residents at an apartment building, they found a second victim. That victim died on scene.

More testing is being done in Michigan and right here in Kent County, in fact.
The Kentwood Rite Aid store on Kalamazoo Avenue is among the chain’s locations offering self testing for COVID-19.
Wednesday was the first day Rite Aid offered the testing at the store located at the Kalamazoo Avenue and 60th Street intersection. Officials with the company said more than 30 people showed up for the first day of testing at the only location offering testing in West Michigan.
