Another 134,000 Michiganders Filed For Unemployment Last Week

LANSING (WOOD-AM) - Unemployment claims in Michigan jumped by 134,000 last week, according to new figures.

Over the past five weeks, roughly 1.2 million Michiganders have filed for benefits.

Another 200,000 claims likely will be certified in the next few days, Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity director Jeff Donofrio said.

On Thursday, the Labor Department said 4.4 million Americans filed for unemployment for the first time last week.
