Missing teen ID’d; dangerous Lake MI conditions hamper search

PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities have released the name of the girl who fell off a pier into Lake Michigan as the search continues Thursday.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office identified the girl as 16-year-old Eliza Trainer from the Flint area.

The sheriff’s office said due to high winds and dangerous lake conditions, authorities are unable to deploy boats or dive teams in the recovery effort Thursday morning. They may use drones later in the day to assist.
