To The Point: Tillman, State Reps. Huizenga, Hood

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) —Some former lawmakers say it’s not fairthat they can’t put theirexperience to work for the state, but Scott Tillman with U.S. Term Limits says not so fast.

“Term limits are a good thing because it keeps legislators closer to the citizens than they would otherwise be. Now back before we had term limits, a lot of people thought it would be a panacea for everything good under the sun they could possibly want,” he said. “We know that it hasn’t been a panacea that did everything great, but it has done a lot of good things. We have the most contested election in the country in Michigan because term limits mean regularly open seats.”
