GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP. Mich. (WOOD) — The Better Business Bureau is taking a creative approach to teaching students about scammers on the internet.
SCAMBUSTERS is a game designed to introduce teenagers to the dangers and types of scams they’re likely to see online. Whether it’s a phishing email to their inbox or promotion on Instagram, the game poses scenarios for students to examine and identify as real or fake.
“A lot of people think the elderly when they think of scams, but the most likely age group to lose money are actually young people,” Troy Baker of the BBB told News 8. “So it’s important that we get to know them and educate them before they really fall victim.”
