GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A 19-year-old Albion College student was killed after being hit by an Amtrak train Saturday night.
Officers are identifying the student as Zachary Winston.
The Albion Department of Public Safety received a call around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night to a train vs pedestrian accident. Officers responded to the pedestrian crossing just west of the Erie Street crossing to the collision.
Authorities said they believe Winston walked in front of the westbound train intentionally, tragically ending his life.
