KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The West Michigan county with the most cases of mosquito-borne Eastern Equine Encephalitis is also the first one to agree to aerial spraying for the pest.
Kalamazoo County Commissioner Mike Quinn confirmed Friday that the county was moving forward with a plan to spray for mosquitoes in response to the EEE outbreak.
County commissioners had been debating if such a step was necessary, and the impact on beneficial insects like butterflies and bees.
