SPARTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A house was damaged after a fire broke out Tuesday morning.
Kent County dispatchers said around 7 a.m. they received a call for a structure fire near the intersection of Alpine Avenue and 10 Mile Road in Sparta Township.
Sparta Fire Chief Dan Olney says the homeowner left for work and got a couple of miles down the road. The homeowner then got a phone call from someone inside the home, saying there was an explosion in the garage, which is attached to the house, Olney said.
