Grand Rapids Police investigating two separate fatal shootings early this morning.
Police confirm that around 2:15 a.m. on Ionia Avenue SW near Albany Street SW a male victim was shot and killed.
Police could not locate him on the scene but the victim was found at a local hospital where he later was pronounced dead.
This marking the 12th homicide of 2019 in the city of Grand Rapids.
A little over an hour later, GRPD responded to the sound of gunshots in the area of Diamond Avenue SE and Sigsbee Street SE.
Investigators say at 3:20 a.m. police found a male victim who had been shot multiple times. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
This fatal shooting making it the 13th homicide of 2019 in the city of Grand Rapids and the second homicide just this morning.
Police do not believe these fatal shooting are related.
