GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids Police Interim Chief David Kiddle will hold a news conference Thursday to release police body camera footage and 911 calls from the arrest of a 12-year-old black boy.

The news conference will take place around 3 p.m. Thursday and will be livestreamed on woodtv.com.

Kiddle also plans to address the situation surrounding the arrest of 12-year-old Car’reion Baker, which took place Saturday afternoon near his home in the 700 block of Neland Avenue SE, north of Franklin Street.

Grand Rapids police said officers were in the area after getting reports of a large fight involving 15 to 20 people. As police cleared the scene, they said they spotted Car’reion chasing a man while carrying a “wooden pole.”
