WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Wyoming police say a mother who reported last month that her child had been kidnapped lied to them.
Sauny Rodriguez-Romero now faces felony counts of making a false report of a child abduction and lying to a police officer.
Investigators say Rodriguez-Romero told them in mid-February that her mother had taken off with her 5-year-old daughter. Police initially said they had information the girl and grandmother may be headed to Honduras, but they were soon found safe in Maryland.
