More than $4K of electronics stolen from Mecosta Co. Walmart

BIG RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are searching for a suspect who stole thousands of dollars’ worth of electronics from a Big Rapids-area Walmart.

It happened around 3:20 a.m. Tuesday at the Walmart located at 21400 Perry Avenue near US-131 in Big Rapids Township.

Surveillance video showed the suspect pry open a locked case behind the counter and cut a security cable to get to the electronics, according to a Mecosta County Sheriff's Office news release. 

The suspect stole five fourth-generation Apple Watches, four sixth-generation iPads, two Acer laptops and three Lenovo Tab 4s. In total, he was able to get away with $4,485.98 worth of electronics, the release said. 

The sheriff's office released surveillance photos of the suspect and the suspected getaway vehicle.
