Plenty of salt, money left for Kent County roads

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The last few weeks have delivered a blast of winter weather to remember.Challenging road conditions and days of schools closures meant that many people simply stayed home, but there was no rest for road crews.

"They were tired. I mean, some of them had worked three weeks straight without a day off," Jerry Byrne, the deputy managing director of operations for the Kent County Road Commission, said of his plow truck drivers.
