GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Just as the snow began coming down in Grand Rapids Monday morning, semi-trucks started bringing cars and displays into DeVos Place Convention Center for the Michigan International Auto Show.
"It is all scheduled," show manager Dawn Baker, who has been working the event for 16 years, told 24 Hour News 8. "Every hour there is another manufacturer coming."
Semis started lining up to unload around 6 a.m.; 40 trucks were expected over the course of the day. Thirty-five manufacturers are presenting at the auto show this week.
"There's snow and slush and a little bit of spinning (of the truck tires), but again, after a couple of minutes, they've got those trucks backed in and we are getting them unloaded," Baker said.
Another line of trucks will arrive Tuesday, bringing cars from all over the country. There will be more than anticipated because some cars that planned to drive have to be hauled due to the weather.
