GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A liquor store in downtown Grand Rapids that had been closed amid multiple violations has had its liquor license pulled.
The Michigan Liquor Control Commission revoked Lucky's Downtown Market's license at a Tuesday hearing.
State officials say that within one year, the liquor store on S. Division Avenue south of Fulton Street had seven violations. It sold alcohol to people who were underage twice and sold to people who were visibly drunk five times. The last two violations of selling to someone who was drunk were reported to state officials by Grand Rapids police, who started keeping an eye on Lucky's because of a history of problems.
Officials shut down the shop earlier this year due to the violations.
