KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — A section of 50th Street in Kentwood will close Wednesday afternoon as city crews work to fix a broken water main.
In a post on Facebook, the city of Kentwood says crews will begin repairs to the line under 50th Street and Blaine Avenue at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Drivers are encouraged to take an alternate route and avoid the area while work is underway.
The city says homes and businesses in the area may be without water until the line is fixed.
It’s unclear what caused the pipe to break. However, numerous water main breaks have been reported in West Michigan since temperatures began tumbling when arctic air moved in.
