GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — People gathered in downtown Grand Rapids Saturday night witnessed a special reunion.
With a Christmas tree as the backdrop near Rosa Parks Circle, U.S. Navy sailor Xavier Keigley surprised his girlfriend Ana Mitchell by coming home for a visit in time for New Year's.
But the surprise didn't stop there.
After the couple embraced, Keigley dropped to one knee and asked Mitchell to marry him.
She said 'yes' as a crowd of onlookers cheered and took photos.
